Paris Hilton "The Bandit" Hair ExtensionsAll-in-One Celebrity Style with Hair Extensions and Hairband Combo
The latest must-have hair accessory combines different lengths and colours of hair extensions with interchangeable, stylish hairbands.
Paris Hilton and DreamCatchers launched their new hair accessory The Bandit on August 23, 2008 in Malibu, California. Chris Volek, CEO of Hair Tech International and DreamCatchers calls The Bandit “the most exciting product in hair extensions I’ve ever seen in my life.” He built Advanced Hair Studio into the largest hair care company specializing in hair extensions in South Africa in 1997 with his wife, international hair stylist Diana Volek. He moved his home base to Beverly Hills in 2005. Not Just a Hair ExtensionVolek and his wife observed women all over the world incorporating hairbands into their everyday look for both day and night. He concluded this is happening far more than in the past because of the number of designers, new fabrics and new fashion cultures that have emerged over the years. “If you take that,” he enthuses, “and add the hair extension phenomenon—well, it’s going to blow everybody’s mind. This is going to revolutionize the hair industry.” The extensions attach to the hairband with Velcro, making the bands and hair interchangeable and “incredibly versatile.” Pre-packaged Bandits come with 4 hair bands, but customers who order online through Sally Beauty can customize which hairbands come with their choice of hair. Some come with long scarves, which Volek recommends tying on the side to mimic Hilton’s personal style. Lengths and Colour OptionsVolek muses that women with long hair think hair extensions aren’t for them because extensions imply going from short to long. The 6” and 9” lengths are designed with hair nets in the back for tucking in long hair, creating a temporary trendy bob or shoulder length style celebrities like the ones Eva Longoria Parker and Jessica Simpson are sporting. The 22” length is more traditional for those wanting to add length to shorter hair. The Bandit comes in 8 natural looking blondes, browns, and a black. Easy Application and StylingPutting on a Bandit couldn’t be easier.
Unlike other synthetic hair extensions, The Bandit is made from the highest quality Modacrylic fibre that can be heat styled on low settings up to 240°F. Alan Eaton, Vice President of Design and Production of TressAllure/General Wigs says the beauty of this type of fibre is that there really is no need to use styling products or appliances because the hairpiece holds its own style, though the option is there for those who want to experiment. The Bandit is distributed exclusively by Sally Beauty in the U.S. and is available September 20, 2008.
